Dear
Customers,
The new season, beginning with our show at the Atlanta Cathedral in January, will take place in world a bit upside down. Through this market we have bought at more competitive prices and with better quality in mind. We have good things, reasonably priced, which we would expect will hold value well.
As you see, we have a new website too. We encourage you to sign up on the "contact page". This site is not really for the casual web surfer; it is for our established customers, people who know and trust us. Send us your name, your email address and hopefully your interests. We like to know where we have met you too; did you see us at the Beach, at Round Top, Scotts or HADA. We take you, our established customers, very seriously.
Although our "Gallery" pages do show a lot of Imari, this year our booths will be stronger than before on Chinese porcelain, Delft and paintings. We are very proud of our stock of good export lamps, generally export vases converted to oil lamps in the 19th Century and now electrified by us. We have really beautiful examples.
Be cautious these days...if things, Imari in particular, looks too good to be true...then it probably is too good to be true. There are many pieces newly made in China and at the shows we can help you to tell the difference.
We wish you a very happy holiday season and we look forward to seeing you in the New Year. As always we may be reached at Michael@higginsantiques.com or at 423-344-8959.
Michael & Claire Higgins
