A painter and occasional sculptor, he was educated in Ghent but also studied in Paris under G. L. Gerome who did influence her work. His predilection was for subjects historic, religious and orientalist, this work being the latter. An organizer, he founded important art groups in Flanders and worked himself for 20 years in the Institute of Beaux-Arts in Antwerp. His work is in many museums. (Ghent, Brugges, and Courtrai). Dimensions with frame 28 X 34 inches.
